Diego Alegría studied Hispanic Linguistics and Literature at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, receiving the bachelor’s degree and license after a successful thesis defense in 2008. The doctorate in Comparative Literature at the Ruhr-University Bochum was completed by Alegría in 2018 with a thesis on contemporary British literature and comics, attaining the grade Summa Cum Laude.
The Higher Regional Court of Cologne extended the license to act as certified translator and interpreter under oath for Spanish in 2020. The equivalent for English was added in 2021.
As a teacher for foreign language, literature and academic writing, Dr. Alegría was active at several colleges and universities in Germany, South America and USA. Research springing from this activity was presented in numerous international panels and published in academic journals.
As a translator, they are experienced in the areas of medicine, engineering, ecology, performing arts and law.
Growing up bilingual has given Dr. Alegría the natural condition to command several languages with native proficiency.
